About

owner Beth Chapman with one of her border colliesHi! I’m Beth Chapman, the owner & manager of Sweet Wind Kennel.

A Family Business

Sweet Wind Kennel began over 35 years ago, when I decided to combine my love for animals with a desire to make a living in the beautiful region of Angora, MN.  Along with my two wonderful sisters, Sweet Wind Kennel came into being as the only dog boarding kennel within reasonable driving distance of Cook, MN.

Extensive Training & Veterinary Experience

Over the years I have been blessed to gain a lot of experience working with and training dogs of different breeds. I worked as a Veterinary Technician for 14 years, experience that I am grateful for when working with dogs on a regular basis.

I combine this veterinary training and background now with the application of Essential Oils and massage therapy to keep our dogs in good health.

Sled Dog Racing

Oh, I forgot to mention – I’m an avid sled dog racer! I have raised and trained the Alaskan Husky sled dog since I was a little girl, and am proud to show off my great team of huskies. I’ve placed many times in different races across the nation, but my favorite accomplishments consist of the multiple “Best Cared For Team” and “Sportsmanship” awards for our kennel.

I take great pride in taking care of my own dogs and those who come to visit Sweet Wind Kennel for boarding or training.  If you’re in the area, feel free to stop by for a visit!

There’s nothing more exhilarating than speeding down the snow-clad trails with my favorite canines in the crisp mornings of a Minnesota winter!
